Ram, Good update on your footer Thumbs Up
Your DPF cleaning might be assisted by an additive in your fuel. Short trips will tend to generate more particles, plus you need hot engine to clean DPF.  I'll not add more here because I will be drifting off the original topic Heading.

You won't be able to do a DPF regen if there's something wrong with either EGT sensor. Sensor 1  monitoris the EGT as it enters the CAT and the ECU depends on this signal for the amount of diesel to be injected into each cylinder during the exhaust stroke of each piston. If the EGT sensor is giving a spurious signal the DPF regen ain't gonna happen.

Ram, I think the tool used has to have part of one side 'missing' so as to allow the cable to pass through because the connector is larger than the inner diameter of socket.
You might be able to fabricate your own. Buy a tube spanner the correct size for the sensor head nut and then using a hacksaw cut away a portion of one side on the tube spanner wide enough for the cable to slide through. You can then turn the sensor head nut with the cable sticking out one side. Once tightened you can lift the tube spanner along the cable slide the cable out of the slot you cut.

Rather an expensive item for a one off use.  At that price it would be cheaper to take it to dealer. Confused

I have a couple of long neck 17mm sockets and a small home milling/drill machine so I can mill out the socket.
Upto my eyeballs in work at present so this will have to wait until end of next week.
Thanks guys for help so far.
Will let you know how i get on.
