Hi. I have had my 2010 LTZ 5 speed auto for 18 months now, and have never been happy with the gearbox. In short, it never really locks into a gear in the way I would expect an automatic to, meaning that when you accelerate, the revs rise a lot before the car starts to respond without the gearbox changing down, like a CVT type transmission. The spacing between the 3rd, 4th and 5th gears is frankly tiny, unless you accelerate really hard, when you get a solid gear change with a noticeable drop on rpm each change. The only exception is at 75mph, when it changes gear again into a 6th gear (or maybe an overdrive!). This gear is a proper locked gear, ie if you put your foot down, the car accelerates with no "slip", however I can find no mention in any service or operating manuals of either 6th gear or overdrive. It has been back to Chevrolet 3 times, and they assure me the box is changing at the right speeds, but they can't test the 6th gear because it only operates above the national speed limit!!Can anyone confirm this is normal, and possibly shed any light on this mysterious 6th gear.
Thanks
Thanks
