Note new firmware out with maps in july so ask for your upgrade.

Basically if you ask it to navigate to Messange in acquitaine in southern france which is where i regularly travel to, the unit will freeze on the last square before timing out after 7 or 8 minutes.
this is if you are uk based by the way. You eventually get a white screen saying out of resources, please press ok to continue. This happens about 5-6 times, and after the 6th time, we get a windows error message saying turbodog.exe unexpectedly terminated and thats it, satnav dead.
the dealer cant fix, its a dead unit, my 2nd one now ... Chevrolet uk are coming to see me shortly and to see this in action. Effectively the unit doesnt like crossing the channel and travelling a long way south and ends up deadening itself.
all functions and features overlap, ie menu screens overlap, reversing camera stops, and then strange displays start appearing including windows boot up screens, inverted upside down chevrolet image, and more .... weird ...

xjc, have you got any video of this you can put on YouTube and post a link, or photos...
Is it really showing a MS Windows boot up screen, or is that your interpretation. If so, what version of Windows have their used. If so, it is likely to be Windows CE, as this was a "cut down" version, Microsoft developed to take to the portable hand held computer battle. And although quite good at the time, it didn't move with the times and became outdated quite quickly and was, how do I say it.. RUBBISH.
They skipped that market then for quite some time, until they developed the Windows phone, which is also, well not an iPhone or even as good as Android. They are now trying again, with Windows 8, which they say will be the same on Desktops as Tablet computers.... Yeah!!!!
Anyway, if the SatNav is built on basically a Windows platform, then it looks like the Chevy implementation of the thier media centre, ie, SatNav, Reverse Camera, Media Player, etc., is no more than a re-badge of the Chinese devices sold on eBay as replacement Head Units.
If that is the case, no wonder it cant cope....
What a con..... Chevrolet, you should be ashamed....
Wonder what version their British sister company have put in the Antara ?
