hi im new to this site just got a 2010 aveo with a full years mot no advisories and only 42k on clock
but the fan only works on speed 4 for the heater
has anyone had this issue and whats the fix please or can it be controlled with something else

As you indicate that you have just acquired this vehicle, my first thought is did you purchase from a dealer or was it a private sale?
If it was from a dealer then there may well be a 'warranty' period which you could fall back on and get the supplying dealer to fix.

It was a neighbours car he hardly drove it he did say it worked sometime ago

The Blower fan resister will need replacing. As on the first three speed settings the voltage to the fan goes through the resister while the fourth setting goes direct to the fan.
