Hello all,

I have a RHD Captiva LT (08) and wish to change the headlight unit for European driving,
I have been told that I must replace the existing units with LHD ones,
Is this true,
Or is there a function on the originals that alters the beam?
Your help would be appreciated,
Thanks,

Unless you're moving to a LHD area permanently, I would simply use the stick on beam deflectors for the length of the trip. If it's a permanent fix you need, I would suggest that the only satisfactory fixis either a change of headlamp units or , if availanle, some OEM perspex headlamp covers with built in beam deflection. The car will need to pass the equivalent of an MOT in whatever country you end up in.

Hello,
Its going to be a permanent move, so I think the best course of action is to replace the units,
Thanks for your advice,

New legislation states if you are going to be in the country for more than 3 months the units have to have the right hand side flare, if its under 3 months you can get away with removing the left hand flare and just having a flat beam. Some cars do have change over leavers especially on the projector headlamps but I am fairly sure they are not on the captiva.
