Hi, i've owned my 2.0 deisel captiva LT for 3 months and am very happy with it, it's an automatic so no clutch probs, but last night i fitted a towbar to it myself, actually quite a straight forward job for the nuts and bolts side but i'm unsure where to go with the electrics. On the underside there is an 11 pin plug which has a wire coming out and if u follow it, it goes to thr reverse sensors and then on to the loom.(left side as you are facing the boot) after putting on the side lights and hazards etc a multi meter has indicated that these pins within this plug are live, would anyone know if i get female plug that fits this and then attach the wires from the towing electrics to it and plug this together would that activate my electrics..... or do i need to wire it direct to the loom. also i only need single electrics does this model need a bypass relay? any helpful info would be much appreciated.
Many thanx, dave.
