We are having some issues with our clutch and changing gears at the moment. When the engine is cold it can be difficult to select first or second gear. The clutch is firmly all the way down but it is hard to push the stick into first and second. It can ease a little when the engine warms up but is till there. Occasionally 3rd has a slight problem too. We have been to the Chevrolet Service garage and they have looked at it. Greased the linkages and adjusted the cables. It is a little better but still there. I am worried that it is the clutch going and the garage don't want to admit it in case they have to replace the clutch under the warranty. The Orlando is 15 months old and done 17000 miles.

Anyone else had this issue??

Taffy, Sorry to hear problem. If you go to Captiva forum you will see other similarpostings - particularly by XJC (6 Nov) and others reporting difficult gear engagement. Could be the gearbox is the same on Orlando & Captiva. Looks like a pattern emerging!
Each post reports difficulty when cold - makes me wonder if wrong viscosity gear oil?!
