Hi I had code 89 for a while, cooling fan would start after I parked up but coolent seemed OK. Very confused about code 89. Anyway my car over heated and the head gasket had blown, somewhere there had a faulty pipe and coolent leak. Since now fixed. With new gasket. Plugs. Timing belt. Battery. Oil and filter change.. the 89 code has now started up again after one day back on the road. What is this 89 code any ideas please..

Code 89 is a warning that there is a fault, it’s similar to the spanner light. It doesn’t have one particular meaning, it could be anything - fuel pressure regulator, oxygen sensor or faulty fuel injector(s).

Clayton, Victor is correct in that Code 89 is a 'general something needs seeing to' message. Your Owners Handbook lists it as the Vehicle Require a Service.
You dont provide us any details of your vehicle mileage / history / service status, but it may just now need a Service.
