Due to the changes in the Forum layout (late February 2020) I have revised the Helpful Tips details to reflect the new tabs and links. I hope you'll find this useful. Hi Forum Member, It is possible that you are new to the Chevrolet Forum and ended up here either by chance or a post has...
Are you asking if it is possible to remove the cruise control feature from a Captiva (which has it) and transplant into an LTX model which does not? As for the 'need' for cruise control... I don't 'need' it but it is a very useful option, especially for my journey to work which has long sections of 50mph roads.
Jonty, The translation I have says :- "Hi I would like to know if it sounds captiva ltx without cruise control you can install one taken from the version that has it and if you need it "
The probable answer is probably not for the reason that the wiring loom on the older vehicle (LTX) (year not stated) would not have the necessary additional wiring nor the multiple sensors located throughout the engine components or the steering components to enable a financially viable connection.
Having said that it may be possible for a specialist in this field of expertise to do so at a cost (probably a lot !).
After a bit of poking around it seems the LTX model comes with cruise control as standard, but I don't know if this is age or just UK specific. It would certainly pay (bad pun) for Antonio to add further info here, but as you say, it may not be financially feasible or technically possible. The LTZ has a lot going for it
