Back again! So I’ve had all the glow plugs replaced on my 2013 Chevrolet Captiva 2.2d as I was getting error codes for 3 of them.

I was also churning out loads of black smoke and read that glow plugs actually now help with the dpf process but since they’ve been done the dpf light regen light has not come on and I’ve driven about a 1000 miles.

the smoke is still there, possibly not as bad but still noticeable on acceleration am I missing something?

the Garage who did the glow plugs said the battery was low and needed replacing, this wouldn’t cause the dpf cycle not to kick in would it?

A battery in poor condition can result in several issues 'playing up'. You dont mention having had the EGR checked. If this 'sticks' it can cause a smoke issue.
