Hi All

I have a 2008 Lacetti 1.8 estate with a blowing exhaust. My garage have quoted silly money for a fix, so was looking for some guidence on how much is should cost or if anyone is able to point me in the direction of the correct parts for the exhaust as i've seen contradicting information elsewhere on the net.

Thanks for any help in advance, as if I can't get this fixed at a reasonable price then come next March it may end up being game over for this car.

Front pipe is about £80, centre pipe and back box around £150, so about £230, plus fitting cost, let's say up to £100 or 3 hours work. But of course we had no idea where it is blowing from, so that is a guess really. If it's the whole lot, plus fitting, I would suggest that £350 would not constitute "silly money". But then what is "silly money"? For me, paying £3.50 for a coffee at Costa would be very silly money as it's my food budget for 3 days, so you see, it is all relative.
What is the significance of next March?

£350 is a lot more reasonable than the over £1000 that the garage quoted.

March is when the MOT is due
