Hello all, I have issue with shifting into 2nd it needs some force usually, no grinding, so would like to remove linkage to check it.

I was not able to remove cigarette lighter connector. I've pressed on the plastic tab and used a lot of force but it won't come off. Any trick to this?

Second issue is that 2 front screws (see pic) on center console
unscrew only partly and then it started taking so much force that I would strip threads for sure if I kept trying. Bolts are not corroded and rear screws required no force to unscrew. Am I missing something here?

If they are threaded screws they may have been put in with Loctite which can make them very difficult to remove. Try penetrating oil and alternately tightening / slackening screws see if you can work them out.

Hi Victor, thanks for replying. I'll try with WD40, already tried with tightening/slackening but that did not help.
Lighter connector is different in Spark, I've tried as in video for 10 minutes but it just won't slip off

One thing to note, it shifts Ok when engine is off so it probably is not related to linkage? Could it still be synchro even though it is not grinding?

Have you tried adjusting the clutch cable? it may just be as simple as tightening it up slightly.
