Just noticed the other night (Eeee, the nights are fair drawing in eh?
) whilst using the lights in the dark for the first time for ages, that the indicator and light stalks plus the electric mirror and brightness controls on the dash by the steering wheel....and the steering wheel cruise and radio controls, come top think of it,aren't illuminated at all. Is that normal? Can't really use em in the dark unless you've memorised what each one does. Wifey was asking me about the front spot and rear fog lamps - no way of finding them in the dark if you're not familiar with their location I reckon.

ps I thought I'd posted this very question 2 or 3 days ago but I can't see it on the forum. Maybe I pressed the wrong button!

No they arent.... but you shouldn't really have to look down to look for them, you should know where they are. You dont take your eyes off the road to change gear do you ....

First time you ever need the fog lights and you don't know where the switch is then yes I'd take my eyes of the road momentarily same as you have to do when you set or alter the tempearature and aircon etc. and numerous other things we all take our eyes briefly off the road for.

Can't say that lighting of controls or the lack of it has ever even occured to me, never mind worried me. I used to drive Mk 1 Escorts where even the head lights working was a bonus...

I dunno, I probably spent about that in steel sheet, welding rods and gas. Drive in the week, weld at the weekend. I had a yellow one too. And a purple one... Both were rust coloured in parts. Don't miss the rust one bit....

If it bothered me I'd mention it?
