Seriously hoping someone can help. We have a 59 plate Aveo 1.2LS which has developed a strange fault. When we hit the brake pedal, the right indicator lights stick on and the car judders and cuts out. When driving, if we indicate left.... No problems... Indicate right and the inside indicator display blinks fast as though a bulb is out, and on the outside the right hand indicator bulbs stay on. Also putting the rear fog lamp on activates the right hand indicators again (Stuck on).. Same happens with reverse. No reverse light but right hand indicators all stuck on. Ive spent hours on google researching and still have no clue. Please help.

Is it not under warranty? First port of call should be a dealer as they willknow if any recalls or faults. Must be about due for a service, aveo not expensive dealer serving, so ask them at the same time.

An earth fault, or a wiring loom fault. You really should go to a dealer. My first check would be to disconnect the switch on the brake pedal (it's easy to get at and unplug), and see if the engine stopping goes away. Then take it to a dealer, Earth faults can cause these and other baffling symptoms. If it's out of warranty, just ask them nicely to have a look at it.
