I haven't done a new model captiva, but while it's different from mine, it still looks similar. The silver coloured surround around the radio will pull off- I recomend some plastic trim joggling tools- I got mine from ebay and a heck of a lot of patience. In the old model, the silver panels either side of the radio which contained the dash heating/cooling vents came off in this manner. They have 4 or 5 spring clips in each and as I say it was simply a case of taking one's time and preserverance. Behind the facia the raio is held in with 4 10mm bolts.
MAny thanks. Have managed to remove the cover around the Gearstick, and have seen pic of the older model trim removal. The new trim is in one piece all the way down and around the gear stick. HAve tried pulling at the silver trip, but seems solid - don't want to reak it......
