As there seem to be more captiva owners than the rest of us, a little tip. After discussions with chevrolet, and a pointer to the dexos 2 approved oils list that i put on the general message area, if you have a service book that has a space for grade of lubricants used, make sure the dealer fills it in, otherwise get them to detail the oil grade AND viscosity used and acea spec on the invoice, this could well save you potential problems later! all oils should be dexos2 approved.

happy motoring all.

Good reminder Oldroverboy. Also of course for the diesel engine owners with diesel particulate filters it should also begrade C3 as well as Dexos 2. C3 grade is designed for use with DPF's and should (!) help reducethe incidence rate of regeneration.
