Since we've had the little Matiz, the front left speaker has not been working (actually was front right == drivers side in UK, so I swapped them).

Finally took a quick punt on some Pioneer TS-G1030F speakers for £25 off Amazon.

What can I say - such a huge improvement over the stock, and very easy fit - so long as you've got some crimp spade to adapt to the factory connector...

Excellent improvement.
When I fitted the subwoofer from a 2003 Toyota Celica to my Aveo, I used a pair of these:


Which are the opposite gender to the fittings on the loom wiring. The sub is high level feed only, so is fed from the rear speaker outputs (the rear speakers are utterly useless anyway). Not much different to yours, but I didn't want any risk of the connections falling out. More risk of my teeth falling out now o_O
