Hi this is Ketan. I have done 50,000 kms on my Captiva. Have to change the tyres. Please suggest should I go for the same size or a different one. My travalling is mainly Highways.Ketan

What size and typeare you driving now?I would recomend not to look for Hankokas option for new tyres.

Ketan, 50,000Kms (31,000miles) on a set is I would suggest is reasonable result, and if you'vebeen satisfied with handling and grip on your roads then I would suggest go for same make as before. Many years ago I changed because I thought I was being smart and regretted the poor ride and lack of grip.

Thanks for the reply. I am happy with the present tyres. But have a small problem. I am not getting the same size. Instead I am getting one size up. I.e
Present size 235/60/R17 102 H. Available size 235/65/R17.

I quick look and Hankook
235/60/R17 102 H are available. Changing the size of tyre doesn't seem to me to be a good idea?

Hi Ketan, I would agree with Jester that you try to keep to specified size. The new size you mention is only small difference in profile but car manufacturer undertakes testing to establish the best size. You may have limitations there in India as to availability. Speak to your tyre specialist.
