Hi,
I have a January 2012 Chevrolet Orlando LTZ AUTOMATIC
It is in the Garage now with the Gearbox Specialist 馃槙 I have had a gearbox change as I was getting NO REVERSE gear at a cost of 拢2600.00. Now the garage is saying I need a new TCM as there was a fault in the old unit... They have bought it without telling me at a cost of 拢700.00! Now they are saying they don't know anyone who can programme the new TCM? 馃槶
The garage have had my car since 1st February, it is now 4th March...
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thank you x

Sounds about right that they would need to reprogram the TCM to the car. However as an (automatic) gearbox specialist, they would know that from the start. Unless of course the TCM was the cause of the problem in the first place.....

I suspect from your profile that you haven't had the car long? Sadly you are now into it for at least 拢3300, rapidly approaching the value of the car itself were it not for the ridiculously inflated prices of used cars right now.

I'm short on advice other than that my local former Chevrolet dealership, WH Brand, still work on the cars, and have always seemed to be fairly knowledgeable. Long way from Sheffield but just might be worth a call especially if your own car can still propel itself forwards with its original TCM.

This has been an ongoing saga with the Chevrolet Orlando... First bought A Chevrolet Orlando 1st September 2021, it had a faulty boot catch. Long story short, had to have a new BCM and reprogramme. Didn't get the car back until November! Came back with more electrical faults....Swapped it at the showroom for ANOTHER Chevrolet Orlando that worked perfectly for 32 days then the turbo hose split in December. Took it to the garage to replace. Fine, until I picked the car up from the garage... NO REVERSE!
This is where I'm at now 馃槶
